May inshore fishing is in full swing. In the Naples and Marco island areas we have been catching Snook, Redfish , Tarpon & mangrove snappers to name a few . Always my first priority at sun rise is to secure a well full of baitfish (pilchards). Some mornings it’s harder to catch the bait than it is the game fish we are targeting but it’s essential to an action packed day of fishing . In the back bays we have been targeting redfish on the higher incoming tides.
The key it’s to stick and move down a shoreline till you find them . Typically you find one you will find a bunch schooling up . Chumming heavy with live baits will speed up your bite and get these fish out of hiding . I always say “Action brings Action “. Snook & snapper are also in the mix so be ready for anything . The water on the beach’s has been gin clear so finding some targets (snook ) to cast at has been an absolute blast . Looks to be a great weekend to get out on the water and enjoy this great playground ! Tight lines!!! Capt. Tim Daugherty www.fishthesalt.com (239) 280-8138
