It’s been an action packed week with all species of fish on the feed. Due to the warm weather snook, tarpon, redfish & sea trout have all been moving to the outside islands to feast on small glass minnows & mullet. Live bait(pilchards) it’s what I have been using and everything seems to be hungry for it. It’s not uncommon this past week to get a **slam** (snook, redfish, sea trout, tarpon) all in the same day. I know every up north is freezing & we are really fortunate to have such warm weather upon us this early in the year. Tight lines !!

It’s been unseasonably warm winter this year with air temps topping out at 85 degrees today. Snook have been on fire this past week chewing on everything from flies to live bait. I have been concentrating on rivers and creeks that have good current flow. A well placed cast close to an over hanging mangrove has been the ticket to getting a strike. There has also been sea trout, Spanish mackerel, jacks and small redfish mixed In with the snook, so hold on that rod & be ready for action. Tight lines !!
Capt. Tim Daugherty www.fishthesalt.com (239) 280-8138 With stable weather back in affect the fishing is really heating up. Snook, redfish, sea trout, jacks , sheep head, Spanish mackerel, pompano & sharks are all being caught in abundance. Live bait is showing up in good numbers offshore and with a few good cast with the cast net it’s off to the backcountry for some live action. For my fly fishing anglers snook are starting to show on the outer islands around fallen structure. A well placed cast with a olive/white or purple/black color surface fly will sure get some attention. It’s Looking to be another above average temperature week & this should really get the bite fired up !!!!!!! See yah out there
Capt. Tim Daugherty www.fishthesalt.com (239) 280-8138 It’s been a great stretch of weather in SW FL. Sea trout, snook and jacks are still abundant around the middle islands. Top water plugs(skitter walks ,Zara spooks) have been getting some action in the early parts of the morning sun rise. Jigs (gulps) are still the best in getting the most action throughout the morning. Looking like another week of 80 degrees weather so time to get out on the water and take advantage :)
Capt. Tim Daugherty www.fishthesalt.com (239) 280-8138 It was a cold weather week but the sun was shinning and fish were chewing. There are always small Juvenal tarpon around in the winter months but can be finicky to eat due to the fluctuation of water temperatures. Sea trout are in abundance in the deeper holes and grass flats . It’s looking like warmer weather is headed our way for the next 10 days which should get our snook back on the bite. Time to Go get M !!!!!!
