Absolutely beautiful here in the Naples & Marco Island Area. Water in the gulf is gin clear and fish are everywhere. Big jacks & snook have been cruising the shallows in big numbers. I always say this time of the year you have to keep your head on a swivel as these schools of fish can appear right in front or just behind you. I like to keep my customers baited up and ready to throw at any given time. Redfish & sea trout have also been mixed in with the snook and jacks. It’s a free for all as this consistent beautiful weather has settled in. It’s time to go get “M”!!!

Click on an image to expand. Summertime fishing is in full swing in Naples & Marco Island area. Our game fish (snook - tarpon- sea trout- redfish) are all cruising the beaches in search of food. Sea trout are in there summer spawn and I am finding them in the deeper troughs of our beaches. Once I locate where they are staging I can back just off them and start chumming to get them all fired up . It’s not uncommon to catch one just about every cast. Mixed in with the trout are redfish, big Spanish mackerel , snook and pompano. Love this summer time action!!!!
Capt. Tim Daugherty www.fishthesalt.com (239) 280-8138 Naples and Marco Island Florida offer some of the best summertime sight fishing opportunities. This time of year the Gulf of Mexico turns a turquoise color and we are able to look for snook, tarpon , redfish , sharks , pompano and sea trout in the shallow waters. Live bait & a well placed cast , is a great way to really get there attention. Look to see what direction they are headed and make a cast 3 feet in front of there nose. It’s so cool to watch these fish inhale a live bait and make a blistering run down the beach in gin clear water. For my fly fishermen & Women , we are using baitfish like patterns. The beaches and outer islands are usually covered in small bait fish so make sure your fly is of similar sized and color. With the water being very clear it’s a good time to switch over to Fluorocarbon leader to get more fishing chasing them flies. Go get M !!!
Capt. Tim Daugherty www.fishthesalt.com (239) 280-8138 It’s been another action packed week of fishing in the Naples and Marco Island Area. Big jacks are absolutely crushing live baits and flies. Chumming Heavy will bring these fish close to the boat so be ready to pitch a bait at the feeding fish and hold on. Snook and trout are all over the beaches and outside island. Its so much fun to be able to hunt these fish in the clear shallows and try to pick the fish that you want to catch. A well placed cast a foot from there nose will insure you get that fishes attention. Capt. Tim Daugherty www.fishthesalt.com (239) 280-8138 |
