Every week we get closer to October I am starting to see more redfish action. With a few throws of the cast net, live bait is still the easiest way to insure an action packed morning. These fish are tight to the trees so pick your pockets and get that bait deep to give these game fish the best look. Mangrove snapper are still everywhere and it’s been great if your looking for a great fish taco dinner. Tarpon will start to show up again so no time to sleep in as you have to get while the getting is good.

It’s was a steady week of fishing with a tournament (naples take a soldier fishing) over the weekend. What an amazing event to get back to our military who do so much to keep us safe. Snook, redfish, tarpon, pompano and sea trout were all on the hit list. The pompano bite has really picked up on both incoming and falling tides. A 3/8oz shrimp tipped jig is a deadly combo that will insure you have plenty of action. Snook are back on the feed and it’s not uncommon to catch 20 or more on a morning trip. Redfish are starting to show up and a live bait cast close to the bushes will entice any hungry fish to eat.
Tight lines !!! Capt. Tim Daugherty Naples Inshore Fishing Charters I know is say it a lot but it’s been a great week of backcountry fishing. I am still having some nice shots at Tarpon & snook. We should be getting another big run of tarpon as Oct gets closer. Let’s not forget redfish although they have been hard to find the past few months. We start to see an increase in there numbers as October approaches.
***Also on Sept 8th is the Annual take a soldier fishing tournament held in Naples Florida. Every year this tournament has been getting bigger and bigger with so much support all over Florida. I can’t tell you how excited I am to be able to give back a little fun time to our military. If you haven’t heard about it please check out www.takeasoldierfishing.com. Capt.
