This past week we have been treated to some outstanding inshore fishing. I look forward to summertime fishing around the Naples and Marco Island areas, as game fish (snook, tarpon, redfish , sea trout , jacks , Spanish mackerel) congregate around the passes and beaches. Live bait has been the best method in getting big numbers of fish to the boat. Small Pilchards or mullet have been plentiful and with a few throws of the cast net your live well should be blacked out! Artificials (top water plugs) have been great fun at first light. Zara spooks or skitter walks have been our go to plugs. The weight of these plugs allows you to make exceptionally long cast to cover more water. Look for fish to trailer the plug for a few feet or they might just blow that plug straight out of the water. Get out early and beat the heat ! See yah out there !

Anglers who are looking for an action packed fishing, look no further. The Naples and Marco island areas offer such a variety of species of fish to catch. During these hot summer days our snook fishing really heats up. My fly fishermen have been treated to some great shallow water sight fishing. Snook have been loaded up on the beaches feeding on small bait fish and can be easily tricked into taking a fly. Some redfish have moved in and with a well placed cast close to the bushes will insure u get a hard strike. Go get M !!!
Capt. Tim Daugherty www.fishthesalt.com (239) 280-8138 The inshore and backcountry fishing around Naples and Marco island has remained hot! There have been small tarpon rolling around the deep backcountry creeks. Live bait(pilchards/mullets ) has been the ticket to getting theses summer time fish to eat. Snook are in abundance closer to the beaches where there has been a good flow of bait and current. I have been looking for birds congregating on a shore lines & I make sure to fish that area thoroughly. These snook have been all sizes so be ready for that big one to blow up on your bait and make a hard run to any structure that is near. Tighten up that drag and hold on !!!!! Go get M
Capt. Tim Daugherty www.fishthesalt.com (239) 280-8138 Naples and Marco island inshore & backcountry fishing continues to produce some great action . Snook are in abundance from the beaches to the inshore islands . Due to the gin clear water, I have been having great success on sight Fishing for snook . Nothing beats throwing live baits at cruising fish in shallow water . Redfish have been chewing good on the morning incoming tides. Cut mullet or lady Fish chunks have been my go to baits . I have been looking for shorelines with current and patchy bottom . Stay as far off as you can cast as not to spook any fish. The name of the game is stick and move till you find some good action. Can’t stress it enough get out early to beat the heat and enjoy a few Hrs of some comfortable fishing conditions. Hope everybody has a great 4th of July !!!!!!!!!!!
